  The Pressing Problem of Air Pollution

There is increasing concern among scientists that we may be ignoring a huge problem of air pollution, which in many cities has become an unwelcome factor in the cause of premature deaths.  China has recognised this and is acting upon it - taking the production of electric cars as an important step, and also increasing the numbers of vertical forests, buildings which are clothed in green to provide life-giving oxygen.

Five Chinese cities will soon have these “Vertical Forests” - where smog will be sucked up and replaced by clean air. The Italian architect, Stefano Boeri,  has designed these buildings, (inspired by two existing vertical forests in Milan), to help remedy the air pollution in crowded cities. The idea has gained support also in Europe and South America. ​
